LA Knight exploded onto the scene in WWE, and it’s no real surprise why. His name is all over social media, and it could be in lights on major WWE marquees eventually as well. He also faced immediate comparisons to The Rock and “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, thanks to people like Kevin Nash spearheading that narrative. If you ask LA Knight, it doesn’t matter to him what others are saying.

Few Superstars bring a reaction like LA Knight does, as fans wait to chant “YEAH” and his own name back at the charismatic WWE talent. Needless to say, fans are also pulling for him to get a push in a big way.

While speaking to Good Karma Wrestling, LA Knight took on those comparisons with The Rock and Stone Cold. He won’t let that change how he does things, because in the end it’s all about rising to the top.

“Whether it’s a compliment or a criticism, I hear everything, I see everything. I’ll give any criticisms an honest look but at the end of the day I’m going to keep doing what I do and what I do is LA Knight and if you want to make me the Kobe to their Jordan, I’ll take it. At the end of the day for me, its rising above and beyond both of those guys and everyone else around.”

LA Knight was also asked about the time he knew that he needed to get back to his actual character, and depart from Max Dupri. After all, it was a return to LA Knight that struck gold with the WWE Universe.

“As far as that’s concerned, you come up and its like well “I don’t know who this person who is, I don’t know what this thing is, but I’ll figure it out and I’ll make it work if it’s what I gotta do. Once there was an opening to get back to something that was more of me, you can bet your keester that I was jumping on that. So here we are only probably like 9/10 months later and what a ride it’s already been and I feel like it’s just getting started.”

Kevin Nash eventually apologized for comparing LA Knight to The Rock and Stone Cold. That couldn’t have been easy to do, but Big Kev admitted that he didn’t know who Knight was when he made those statements. Either way, many fans are still clinging onto that narrative.

There is also bit of worry within WWE that stalling his push might diminish any returns, and they need to strike while the iron is hot. That being said, fans will be able to find LA Knight in the Slim Jim battle royal at SummerSlam.

What’s your take on LA Knight’s character in WWE? Does he have what it takes to be a top name for the company? Sound off in the comments to let us know what you’re thinking!
