The 2023 Emmy Awards have been officially rescheduled for January 15, 2024, which is also Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The Television Academy and Fox announced the date today (August 10). The news arrives after the ceremony—originally scheduled for September 18—was pushed back due to the ongoing actors’ and writers’ strikes. The postponement marks the first time the awards show has been rescheduled since 2001, following the September 11 terrorist attacks.
The 75th annual Emmy Awards will broadcast live from the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, airing on Fox from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern. The Creative Arts Emmys will also take place at the Peacock Theater, spanning the nights of January 6 and January 7. An edited version of those ceremonies will air on Fox on January 13 at 8 p.m. Eastern.
Nominees for the 2023 Emmy Awards include Jay-Z, who co-directed Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show, as well as Tim Robinson got two nods for I Think You Should Leave. Other music-related nominees include Daisy Jones & the Six, Weird: The Al Yankovic Story, Moonage Daydream, Donald Glover’s Swarm, Kid Cudi’s Netflix show, Entergalactic, and more.
