Fans were eagerly waiting for CM Punk’s return on the debut episode of Collision, as it marked the first time he appeared on AEW television since All Out last year. CM Punk is back in the fold, but it appears drama has reared its ugly head once again. Now it appears AEW talent are in an awkward position when it comes to calling out CM Punk.
CM Punk is considered to be one of the most divisive pro wrestlers on the planet right now. In fact, Punk might have been responsible for sending non-contracted AEW talent home after this week’s episode of AEW Collision.
Reports of Ryan Nemeth getting sent home as soon as he arrived this week broke out. Nemeth was not the only AEW talent who was sent home with believed connection with CM Punk.
Naturally, in such a pressing matter, talent are expected to speak out against CM Punk. According to Wade Keller of PWTorch, AEW talent are “in an awkward position” when it comes to speaking out against Punk as Tony Khan is a huge fan of The Second City Saint.
It was further reported that when CM Punk returned to AEW Collision’s first show, Tony Khan “stood up backstage in the gorilla position with his headset on and started pumping his fist” while chanting CM Punk’s name.
AEW also has no plans for CM Punk vs Adam Page anytime soon. The company is once again in the midst of drama and it all can be tracked to CM Punk once again. We’ll keep you updated on any further updates regarding this developing story.
