Chelsea Green’s initial WWE run ended up failing in a big way due to injuries and she was eventually fired. Green eventually found her way back to WWE earlier this year and now it appears she reacted to getting a new tag team partner on Monday Night RAW.
Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville won the Women’s Tag Team Titles on July 17, after defeating Raquel Rodriguez and Liv Morgan. It was short-lived as Sonya Deville suffered an ACL tear after injuring herself on the July 28th episode of SmackDown.
As seen on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW, Chelsea Green was speaking with Adam Pearce and then got interrupted by Piper Niven, who claimed that she was the new champion.
That ended up becoming true as WWE has now officially recognized Piper Niven as one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. Green took to Twitter and reacted to getting Niven as her new tag team partner.
Champ Chels lives to see another day.
We will have to wait and see how WWE will book Chelsea Green and Piper Niven as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, now that the company has already fixed their tag team title issue.
