Dustin Rhodes is considered a proper veteran in professional wrestling, after wrestling in the business for many decades now. Rhodes has seen the rise and fall of many companies and continued to push on no matter what. That being said, it appears he defended the Texas Chainsaw Massacre match after many dubbed it the worst match ever.
On the August 16 edition of AEW Dynamite, the company presented the Texas Chainsaw Massacre match, featuring Jeff Jarrett vs Jeff Hardy. The bout was a violent affair and it even featured an appearance from Leatherface himself, who turned out to be Dean Alexander.
That being said, many people absolutely hated the match and called it the worst match ever. Dustin Rhodes took to Twitter and fired back at all the haters, making it clear he enjoyed the match.
I thought the Texas Chainsaw match was entertaining as f*** . People saying it was the worst match ever are full of s***. I have that honor. The match was a tie-in for the upcoming video game of the same name and saw over $100,000 in sponsorship for AEW, with Tony Khan later revealing the funds would be donated to the Maui Foodbank. Regardless, AEW did what any company would do in their position and fans have just accepted that now.
