AEW is preparing for another episode of Collision tonight, and you never know who will show up. It seems that one hot free agent in the pro wrestling world is around, but it’s unclear how involved he will be at this time.
Richard Holliday just wrapped up his time with MLW. He was a top star for the company, and also drew headlines after battling Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, but he is currently in remission. At this time, he is also a free agent after his MLW deal ended in April.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that an interesting free agent name is backstage at the AEW Collision tapings tonight. It is reported that Richard Holliday is around Collision this week.
Fightful Select has confirmed that Richard Holliday is backstage at today’s AEW tapings. Several talent confirmed that they’ve seen him around at the show. We have no confirmation as to whether or not he’s appearing on the show or has met to discuss a potential deal.
The 30-year old Holliday had been a top star in Major League Wrestling for years until he was diagnosed with stage four Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in September 2022. He’s in remission and has returned to wrestling. However, he confirmed in April 2023 that he’d become a free agent.
It was also noted that Richard Holliday “lives fairly close to the area, and has long been connected to MJF. The two, alongside Alex Hammerstone, formed the Dynasty in MLW in 2019.” We will have to see if he appears for AEW, or whether he is just around the tapings because they are close to him.
