Hali Long returns to action for Kaya-Iloilo FC.

Hali Long resumed her domestic duties following her Fifa Women’s World Cup campaign as Kaya-Iloilo hammered Tuloy FC, 4-0, on Sunday in the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Women’s League in Carmona, Cavite.

Long started in the match which saw Kaya claim the maximum three points in convincing fashion at PFF National Training Centre and draw level with idle pacesetter Manila Digger following a fourth consecutive victory.

Shelah Mae Cadag, Irish Navaja, Camille Rodriguez and Hazel Lustan were the goalscorers for Kaya, which tied Manila Digger at 15 points apiece but is in second place due to goal difference.

The season debut came two weeks after Long and the Philippines wrapped up their World Cup campaign with a 6-0 loss to Norway in Auckland, New Zealand. She wore the captain’s armband in all three matches.

Goalkeeper Inna Palacios, who was part of the World Cup contingent as one of the reserves, was also in the Kaya lineup as a substitute.

Long’s appearance came a day after sisters Olivia and Chandler McDaniel suited up for Stallion-Laguna in a 4-0 loss to La Salle.

In the nightcap, Stacey Ann Arthur scored late to help Manila Nomads salvage a 1-1 draw against University of Santo Tomas.

Arthur took advantage of UST’s faulty defending at the back to come through with the equalizer in the second minute of extra time which allowed Nomads to split a point with the UAAP side.

Manila Nomads now has eight points to move one behind fifth-running Tuloy FC in the table while UST tied University of the Philippines with four each.
