Paul Wight recently shared his perspective on Vince McMahon, his former boss at WWE.

While speaking with Inside The Ropes, Wight discussed what he thinks McMahon’s reaction to the upcoming AEW All In pay-per-view event at Wembley and shed light on McMahon’s competitive nature.

According to Wight, he believes that Vince McMahon is concerned by the rise of AEW and the significance of the All In event. However, he views McMahon’s reaction as a positive one, emphasizing McMahon’s inclination towards competition and his desire to excel in his field.

Wight further elaborated that Vince McMahon finds his motivation and drive from competition.

“Oh, well, I think he’s pissed. I think he’s absolutely pissed, but he’s pissed in a good way. He’s the type that likes competition. He likes that challenge. Vince [has] very much animal, jungle-type mentality. Vince is a guy that thrives on competition or thrives on doing new things, thrives on being the best in his mind at what he does, so when you know competition steps up, that fires Vince up more than anything.”

Wight pointed out McMahon’s aversion to boredom. He stressed that McMahon’s worst fear is to become complacent and unchallenged. The introduction of competition invigorates McMahon, pushing him to innovate and deliver a superior product to both fans and the wrestling industry as a whole.

“The worst thing that can happen to Vince McMahon is to be bored, monotonous, you know? If he’s got competition, it fires him up to be better, which is a win for the fans because they’ll get a better product, and it’s good for us because we produce a better product, too.”

As the wrestling landscape continues to evolve, McMahon’s response to competition serves as a driving force for improvement and innovation in the industry.
