Samoa Joe had a successful run in NXT before making his way to the WWE main roster but also experienced being released by the company on two occasions. This made him well-versed in the realities of the industry. He also made a claim about Roman Reigns.
In the end, Samoa Joe was released by the company once again back in January 2022. He eventually made his way to AEW and has since been part of the AEW as well as the ROH roster.
The Samoan Submission Machine also engaged in a feud with Roman Reigns back in 2017. While speaking to Metro, Samoa Joe claimed that he always knew Roman Reigns war going to become the megastar that he is today.
Just understand that a lot of what you see today, I saw back then and knew it was inevitable.
That’s the biggest thing that I can take away from Roman and being in the ring with him, I realized that, yep, this is gonna be the one.” He added, “I knew it just took time, and him doing his thing, and then finally getting the opportunity to be something that he’s more comfortable being. And there we go!
Roman Reigns defeated Jey Uso at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event. We’ll have to wait and see who his next opponent will be in the coming weeks.
