Sgt. Slaughter is a WWE Hall Of Famer and one of the most respected Superstars in the history of the company. While he is respected, there are still quite a few people who don’t think he deserves all the praise. Now it appears he’s trying to stop Lacey Evans from using his finisher.
Lacey Evans sported a new look after she returned, wearing a camouflage jacket and hat, similar to Sgt. Slaughter. This led to Slaughter’s daughter calling her out for stealing his look. This essentially opened up a can of worms with even Sgt. Slaughter getting involved in a big way.
Sgt. Slaughter previously expressed his belief that WWE should have sought his permission before allowing Lacey Evans to incorporate the Cobra Clutch into her move-set. This discussion is clearly an ongoing one, as Slaughter isn’t done talking about it.
Sgt Slaughter has filed trademark applications for four new trademarks with the United States Patent & Trademark Office. The applications were made on July 25, 2023 under Slaughter’s legal name of Robert R Remus. Remus has filed applications for the following terms.
“Mark For: SGT SLAUGHTER trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of printed comic books; Printed magazines in the field of professional wrestling; Printed trading cards, other than for games; Printed comic magazines.
“Mark For: SGT SLAUGHTER trademark registration is intended to cover the category of collectible coins; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment celebrity; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.
“Mark For: COBRA CLUTCH trademark registration is intended to cover the category of collectible coins; Entertainment services, namely, live appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment celebrity; Entertainment services, namely, personal appearances by a professional wrestling and sports entertainment personality; Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibits and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer.
“Logo: The mark consists of a military style drill instructor’s hat having sargeant stripes, aviator style sunglasses positioned below the hat, and a mustache positioned below the sunglasses.“Mark For: This trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of headwear, namely, hats; Sweatshirts; Wearable garments and clothing, namely, shirts.”
Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE is not pitching any Creative ideas for Lacey Evans. In response to this, a fan stated that WWE needs to let her go. Sgt. Slaughter himself then claimed that Evans was programmed by WWE writers.
