WWE Payback will go down during Labor Day weekend on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The company spent a majority of the night focusing on Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk tributes on SmackDown this week, but they found time to add more to the Payback card.

This week’s episode of WWE SmackDown included some notable segments. They also paid tribute to Bray Wyatt and Terry Funk all night long. That booking also included them confirming one match that was already in line.
Austin Theory won a #1 contender’s match as he will take on Rey Mysterio for the US Title. In the end, it was announced this week that those two will have their match at Payback.
They also confirmed that LA Knight vs The Miz will go down at Payback. Those two have been going at it for a few weeks now.
